Conflict of Interest Training
As of August 2012, Conflict of Interest training is required prior to engaging in research for any Public Health Service (PHS) funded project. MSU has established an online training program on the MSU Office of Regulatory Affairs training website, which lasts about twenty minutes. PHS researchers are required to renew this training every four years.
Others are not required to complete the training module at this time. However, it may be helpful to anyone completing a Conflict of Interest Disclosure as part of their grant and contract submission process.
To access the training, go to the ORA Training website, click "Register," "Complete Registration" and then "Launch" to begin the Financial Conflict of Interest Certification training. (If it indicates that you have already registered, click "In Progress Training" link on the left, then "Launch.")
Your completion of the training will be reflected on the Office of Sponsored Programs database generally by the next day. (Please note that the training does NOT automatically appear on the OSP database. It is manually entered by staff during business hours.)
For research investigators who do not have an MSU Net ID, first obtain an MSU Community ID. This provides limited access to the MSU web-based services. Use your MSU Community ID to log on and register for the training at the ORA training website.
